Afraid to Commit.

So recently as school has kicked off I have found myself getting more involved. This has taken the form of the S.U. I was asked to join the committee and jumped at the oppurtunity probably not realising that I have to commit. I love S.U. Its always been fun to go to and always taught me really meaningful things and being on committee is no different, only now I'm in the loop. However I now find a lot of my time has been taken away. Thursday lunchtimes I go to Junior S.U and Thursdays after school Senior S.U, also on Fridays at lunchtime I go to the S.U committee meeting. My thoughts on this are summed up in this simple conversation I shared with a good friend of mine.

ME: I didn't realise being on committee would mean me giving up so much time. I love my lunchtimes I didn't think I'd have to give up so many of them.

FRIEND (jokingly): Oh right, so what now, you don't want to give God your lunchtimes?

Yeah he said it jokingly and wasn't being serious but actually that was pretty much what I was saying. I love lunchtime, its the one time during the day when I get to see all my friends at once and catch up with them and just chill out and talk. I guess right now I'm trying to justify my feeling of not wanting to give up my lunchtimes. I feel bad even typing this, my thought: Bad, Bad Christian.

Starting from today my Mondays after school are filled with Womentor group. Also in the next few weeks I will be attending planning meetings for this years Cafe one80 mission and after Christmas I will be completely swamped with stuff for the mission. And I've been told (I'm not sure if I was asked) to attend Monday prayer meetings and be a kind of leadery thing I think, I'm not sure if this is before school or lunchtime, but I'm feeling wary about commiting to this too. I guess this means I'm being selfish. I'm not putting God first I'm just thinking about myself. Even so, I still don't want to commit to it.

I think I'm gona need to pray about this for a while.
